Story of an unknown “HERO” whose company had provided equipment for the success of ISRO’s missions.

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) did many successful missions that have no words to define their bravery, hard work, and talent. But, to execute and getting success in ISRO’s missions there were not only talented scientists but also other very important people who played very important roles in the success of ISRO’s missions even staying out of the research centre. Have you ever thought about where ISRO is getting all types of equipment for their unbelievable success in their missions? Walchandnagar industries ltd. (WIL) situated in Maharashtra, India is providing different types of equipment for different missions of ISRO from 1973 to now. WIL provided very important equipment as fuel in the making of the rocket named ‘Bahubali’ on 22nd October 2008 in Chandrayan 1 to Chandrayan 2. There is also speculation that in 2022, India's first manned inter-mission campaign will play a significant role in Gaganyan. It was hard to imagine the establishment of WIL without the founder and entrepreneur.

Yes, one of the great personality men Mr.Walchand Harichand Doshi, who is known as the father of modern Indian transport. He was born in Sholapur, Maharashtra, India, on 23rd November 1982 in the Gujarati Jainism family. He established Will in 1908 and before that, he started his career in banking and cotton family business. After that, he played a big role in constructing a business in which he constructed a railway tunnel and did the work of joining water pipes from the Tansa River to the Thaade district in Mumbai.

After the end of the First World War in 1919, he brought the ASAS Loyalty Steamer Ship from Shindhya, Gwalior with his friends Mr Narottam Morarjee and Mr Kilachand Devchand. On 5th April 1919, his ship went for its first international trip, this day is celebrated as ‘National Sea Day’ in India and it is an important thing for the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System Mr Walchandra found a lot of scope in shipping business at the time when sea routes are in control of British Government and scope of this business become more after the first world war. But in this, he faced many problems too like competing with British companies and he made his business successful with his never giving up spirit. A village in western Maharashtra has been named after him and out of fifteen thousand people from the village fourteen hundred people got employment in his industry Will and his company's turnover is around four hundred crores. He was a great dreamer, a leader, and a patriot. He was a political leader in a freedom war.

He was president of this company from 1929 to 1950 and due to health reasons, he took retirement. However, three years later, the company captured 21% of Indian coastal traffic. Earlier in 1940, he thought of setting up Scindia Shipyard (Hindustan Shipyard Limited) in Visakhapatnam, which was based on the plan to build the country's first ship 'Jal Usha' in 1948 after independence.

He also started Hindustan Aircraft (now called Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) in Bangalore in the same year and five years later established Premier Automobiles in Mumbai, the first indigenous automobile manufacturing company to produce the legendary Premier Padmini sedan since 1949. Was.
Even though he was a businessman, who was engaged in construction and infrastructure construction, Walchand was also deeply involved in the freedom struggle. He was one of the early supporters of the Congress, who gave financial support to the Free Press of India established in 1927 with Annie Besant and MR Jayakar. He also petitioned for the release of Mahatma Gandhi in 1931. He died on April 8, 1953, in the city of Siddhpur in Gujarat, three years after his retirement in 1950.
